The Gaza Code Academy, a joint project of Gaza Sky Geeks and Founders & Coders International, will launch its fourth cohort on March 11th, 2018. We will train 16 students in a full-time, intensive course for 8 weeks with an additional 16 weeks of project-based learning with real-world clients to jumpstart your professional portfolio. The final goal for this Code Academy is to graduate as full-stack developers who can deploy production-grade software online and secure high-quality jobs with companies or work as freelance developers!

The fourth cohort requires a full-time commitment from March 11-August 30, 2018.

The deadline to apply is February 8, 2018. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so it is encouraged to apply early.

Our immersive course is peer-led and project-based with 16 students working in four teams of four. Students take turns delivering workshops, running code reviews and managing projects. The course covers test-driven development, using a full JavaScript stack (JavaScript and Node.js) with relational databases. We also teach aspects of UX design and project management.

Once finished, graduates of the Code Academy will be competent full-stack developers, able to work in big teams, build complete prototypes to test their ideas, work with clients, and manage the lifecycle of a product.

Gaza Sky Geeks, and the Gaza Coding Academy were founded on the principle of giving back to the community. This means that we do not charge our students fees, but we do expect them to contribute back.

Specifically, graduates are expected to lead the next programme; by mentoring, teaching and helping to organise the programme. You will have the full support of the alumni and GSG staff.
